I watched Coventry v Wrexham game , our supposed target Viktor Gyökeres came on in the first half, he took his goal well and looked sharp and lively . A different striker, more in the Maupay mould, than Dominic Calvert-Lewin/ Simms , not sure he’s what we need but of course the questions are is he better than what we got…and can we afford him.
The best Coventry player was Casey Palmer , I haven’t seen much of him since his Chelsea youth days, quite a decent player , not likely to set the PL on fire, more of a Iwobi replacement if he’s out long term.
Watched it too and agree with you on Palmer, but I think that comparing Gyokeres to Maupay is totally unfair.

I reckon he’s quality, though still unproven and will eventually get a move to the Prem.

If we’re as skint as is rumoured and we can afford him, I’d take the gamble and buy.

We’ve done much worse by buying players (like Maupay) who we all knew were deffo garbage.

I think we’ll end up with Ings. If you listen to franks last news conference here let’s slip about “obligation to buy, or whatever”. I reckon he was thinking about Ings. We might be trying to get a relegation clause out in though
Quite telling that we look at Villa having two strikers and think they've got too many.

Probably because we wouldn't dream of having more than one fit and reliable player per position.
