I'm a bit worried of who our players are linked with. All going to teams around us in the league. But only way we're going to make signings is by selling.

Don't fret, you'll worry less when you realize these "links" usually consist of some bloke down the pub saying stuff or some rando on twitter making shyte up for the sake of it. Let's hope we are behaving like a non-tinpot-outfit for once and doing our business quietly and efficiently in the background.

I doubt that is reasonable for Palace. They still have to stay in the division. Why would they strengthen a rival? I think they will let him run his contract down rather than sell unless a silly offer comes in.

100% spot on. A few extra months of Zaha playing well for them, ensuring they are safe in the league will be worth more to them than £15m-odd.

Also, Zaha can sign a pre-contract with a European club in a week and get the best possible deal for himself. He may have absolutely no interest whatsoever in coming to a club who may get relegated let alone do any better than his current club. It's his last shot at a big(ish) move. He wont waste it on us.

Defender stats don't matter. If you're leading the league in blocks you're also leading the league in letting players shoot which is bad defending.

Our defense is going to regress at some point (it's already started a little) and people will act shocked. It shouldn't be shocking.

He has no desire to join everton nor we have the finance to even contemplate a transfer. The fact that he did not get selected for the world cup will probably push him to leave his club but more likely to join a champions league club either in England or Italy.

We concede the most shots per match in the league. In fact we're currently conceding more than any side in like 5 years (I looked before the World Cup, it's been awhile). This is imo not a sustainable way to defend. Eventually they're going to go in.

I can go into it more, it'll be more appropriate in the Lampard thread, but honestly that post tells me you're pretty unserious about it all and aren't actually looking for a discussion.

If we’re talking stats I can confirm that all shots that are blocked successfully have an xG of zero so until we talk about conceding close to the most amount of goals in the league, shots are irrelevant.

Also your first sentence is very silly, if you don’t know what I’m saying how can you say it’s wrong.

It’s my belief that you are wrong saying that conceding shots that are blocked is bad defending. In fact, next time one of our defenders blocks an effort look out for Pickford giving them a little low five which happens regularly because they’ve done some good defending.

Rennes signed Gouiri for 28mil EUR and hes done well for them...any fee for Terrier or him would be circa £50mil id expect.

Weve done business with Lille recently for Onana and sent Andre Gomes there.

Lets try and work something out with Lille for Jonathan David.

Quick, good with both feet and knows where the net is.

Pace is always a threat so he and Gordon should have teams on the back foot.

When playing it can make sense to invite the opposition to shoot knowing you can block it. Its not a negative at all
