With Walcott's injury record he's needed to fill out the squad.
Having him sit around and not play just in case is not how you develop players. We're not winning anything this year. Europe is unlikely. Either he plays consistently or you loan him out and figure it out if injuries happen.
 
I would 100% take King for £20 million as decent cover / rotation.

Twice the player the likes of Tosun is and suits the 2 up top.

When Joelinton is going for £40 million for me thats a fair price.

Why would we be comparing our signings to Tosun, a player we desperately want rid of because he's not good enough?

Is King better than DCL or Richarlison? Does he have a higher ceiling than Kean? Since the answers are no, that's a pointless signing.

Sending them out on loan to play under Neil Lennon is definitely not how you develop players so I'm fine with it.
