Another £30m on managers (ending up with Allardyce in charge for all that expense)
Sold about £150m-£170m of players

The desire is to sign players as cheaply as possible, not as expensively as possible just to try to prove something.
The player was signed, that is what matters.

I would dearly like us to sign a left back.

Hold off Walcott until we finally sign a LB. That is absolutely vital.

Story linking us with a straight swap, Niasse for Van Arnolt at Palace. Not a terrible plan, we need a left back and Niasse is now 3rd choice, but if Niasse does go we will still a 3rd choice. I suppose if we get Walcott he can play up front, but think he is better on the wing

it'd be terrible. We're apparently rating niasse at £13m (if 3 teams are interested, we should be pushing for £17m/£18m imo), so why would we rate van aanholt who's not even a first choice left back for palace, for the same price?

Bit harsh that... both are young and coming to a new league. I also don't agree that they have been given a real chance never mind 2-3
