Always liked him from the moment Duncan passed to him and he scored against Palace, he just had no luck with injurys. I remember being at the Reebok and he got yet another freak injury.

Really hope he makes it back in the Prem with a team. He said on Twitter he would like to make it back to Everton one day.

Was Zinedine Kilbane who passed mate!

He was worth getting excited about for a while, always really enjoyed watching him. I remember him coming off the bench at half time in a dour home match (against Wigan, maybe? Fulham?) and injecting a bit of life into proceedings with his running. We ended up winning 1-0 and though he wasn't directly involved with the goal he deserved plaudits for giving us some attacking intent.

Wish him really well, he always looks like he's absolutely buzzing when he shows up in the photos from the United semi.

Not my favourite ever moment at Goodison! He did really well on loan with us a couple of seasons ago and scored for Huddersfield against us the other night. He and Beckford should be tearing up trees at Huddersfield. With all due respect they should both be playing at a higher level.

Has had a few loan spells in championship and hasn't really been prolific, mybe because of injury it's not really gonna happen for him, hope so thou wish him all the luck in world

People always said that when Vaughan and Anichebe were coming up through the academy and reserves, despite Vic's build and ability to impose himself on the opposition with his strength and pace, Vaughany was the most gifted and the most likely to become a staple in the first team.

Truth is the club sold Vaughan over Anichebe at time, becausce the former actually had potential buyers, despite his injury proneness. I think Moyes would have happly sold Vic in 2011.

I'd argue that Vic has struggled with his injuries too but he's proved now that he's a Premier League footballer and Vaughany just trying to get a full season without major injuries under his belt. I'd love them both to be Everton players in the future though.

....shame about the boy's injuries but there was too much hype and expectation (remind you of anybody else?). Definitely better to move him on for the sake of the player and club and can't believe anybody thinks otherwise.

There's no way I'm not going to love this lad forever.

Scored to help inflict a first European loss in 30 years at AZ Alkmaar didnt he? I remember the halcyon days of European footy. Hope they are back soon. And Good luck Vaughany with a bit of persistence you'll find a club that will stick with you long enough for you to get grounded.

Him and Beckford, on paper, look to be the best strike partnership in the division IMO

Although for various reasons the relationship with moyes suffered at the end Vaughan was really highly rated at Everton . Begore One of the many African nations cup when the yak went moyes told him he didn't need to bring anyone in as he had confidence he could carry the side but I think as usual an injury struck .

years ago i heard a member of the coaching staff say Anichebe sometimes looked like he'd never kicked a ball and others decent whereas Vaughan was pretty consistent , I just think the constant injuries took their toll and he never really had the run either on the pitch or off to really improve his abilities .

Shame as I think at times he really looked to have potential .

It's very sad when a young lad who has the right attitude towards his club and life in general has so many injuries, and then you get bell ends who pretty much throw it all away.

I would be delighted if the lad has a good career, he's a well liked player and I'd be made up for him. i hope that 5 get's a 1 in front of it by the end of the season and he stays injury free for as long as he can.

He had a spell in late 2007 where he genuinely looked like he could be an excellent player.

He was brilliant against John Terry in that game where we were denied being the first team to beat a Mourinho team at home by some very dodgy decisions.

You're spot on with all of that, mate

I'll be going to watch Forest v Huddersfield on 19th Feb so will see how he's getting on. Although he's only scored 5, he is joint top scorer for the Terriers, good point for them today as well against Cardiff.
