As good as Vaughan could be he won't be better than Yakubu, Yakubu is different class. Vaughan will be very good though.

Well i think it remains to be seen if Vaughan can consistently over a season score 20 goals maybe not now where he is in his development but i think certainly in the future. I think he has more to his game then the Yak to be the better all around striker.

But nothing is definite, i have tremendous faith in this lad though!

He's different, he could be a great partner for him.

Yakubu isn't given enough credit for his natural ability, the myth that he does nothing but score is one of the worst I've heard. In terms of passing ability, link up play, intelligence and movement Yakubu is top draw.

In terms of physical and technical attributes no one matches Yak in our squad. He's just different class for me.

Vaughan has the aerial ability, pace, workrate, agression etc to compliment him. It could be a great partnership.

Great point mate, i agree with it all and cant argue with any of it! I think exactly the same.

What i would say though is that the Yak hasnt proved he can work with a partner for us yet, maybe vaghan is the boy, i think im right in saying his best partnership was with Viduka didnt they score soemthing like 50 goals between them one season.

He did, him and Viduka where leathal.

Yakubu hasn't really been given a run alongside someone. He was used sparingly with AJ and he's been used a few times with Vic. Not enough time to get an understanding or learn how players play.

I still think Saha and Yak could work very well, but they do need time to learn each others games. We've seen flashes but not enough. Nothing is a quick fix, they need a run together.

See that back heel against Bolton maybe a sign of things to come pity it was offside harsh decison.

Thats a few Vaghan has gotten for the rezzies!

Time. All kids develop at different speeds. Give him a good run and a little time and we will see what sort of player he can be. Personally I think he will be a great player bases on what little I've seen. Lets just get behind him and give him a little time.(y)

How anyone can dismiss Vaughan on the basis of this season is beyond me!

This guy has it all - more or less combining all the great qualities of our other forwards - pace, strenght, predatory instinct, heading ability. I find it funny that someone like Saha who himself is coming back from injury has been greeted as a great player - especially after scoring - and that he must be given time to fully recover. How come Vaughan isn't given that time? Before he injured himself he was starting to gel with AJ, and was scoring, he has the ability and I stand by my previous belief that if he can stay clear of injuries he will be our main striker within 1-2 years.

Whenever he has come on he looks like scoring - more so than Vic who IMO is very limited in his ability and who will never be in the starting 11 on a regular basis.

But Vic is. I'm sure Vic is more in contention to start a game than Vaughan. Vic's played more competative games and scored more goals.

Reason why people bang on about Saha is that he's got a proven track record and if fit has another 2 seasons in him.

Vaughan's injuries have set him back big time IMO. And its not like teams are banging down the door to have him on loan, even Leroy Lita had more teams asking for his services than Vaughan ever had. He's made of glass and no one will take a chance on him. I wouldnt be surprised if Baxter came through next year and was getting the nod over Vaughan.

Vaughan needs lots of games, a good run to show what he can do. He's shown spells and that's it before being injured. Needs to be loaned out because he's not gonna progess.

Fully agree with that one, but think he needs to start playing on a regular basis soon, to progress. A loan would definately be the best option for all parties involved.

Theres no doubting he has the potential to be an incredible striker, but certainly needs games under his belt. When he was forging that partnership with AJ, I honestly thought we had an exceptional striker combination, they really worked fantastically together.
