2024/25 James Tarkowski

No it doesn’t? He didn’t even need to leave the ground, he could’ve won that ball from a standing position. That is not a natural body shape after making a tackle, his foot is higher than his hip. Let’s just call a spade a spade and be adults about this, if it was one of our players on the receiving end we’d be outraged.
He could and should stay on his feet yes, but there still needs to be soe degree of follow through when you clear the ball forward. It wasn't great at all, but I don't think it was as bad as some are saying either.

Not really sure how anyone can think any other way than it was not great, myself.

I remember this ‘type’ of challenge was an annual occurrence when gobshites Carragher and Gerrard were playing. It would always be at that hole as well. They’d never do it at Goodison. Plenty of ours have ended up on the wrong side of some horror tackles yet was always met by that lot with a shrug of ‘it’s a derby innit’.

Yes, Tarky has got away with one in this modern footy we watch today and he should think about toning it down when flying in as you’re not going to get away with it again. And that’s the mad thing. This happened at Anfield in front of their gurning gimps, yet the ref and VAR still didn’t send him off. Would’ve been dead easy to. Something to think about.

I’m not upset at all. I’m more disappointed that so many melts/drips support our club that can’t call a spade a spade. I can’t respect people who are so blinkered by hatred/bias. It basically the character trait which allowed Brexit to happen and allow Trump to be voted in. You keep drinking the koolaid. I’d prefer to keep by dignity and integrity.

I was explaining to the Mrs last night that there is a tribalism about football that means that you are inclined to defend actions of the supported team. I have always tried to go away from that, if I think that it is a red/foul/offside/etc. then I will probably call it like that.

I just think there is easily enough mitigation about the sliding clearance/tackle that means it is not so cut and dried. If that was the other way around it would be spun by the media as a great clearance and an unfortunate accident. At worst it would be a debatable red.

I don’t buy that at all. I know fans of lots of clubs who all hate Liverpool and they all think it is a red card as do lots of Evertonians. Not even debatable.
