100k a week is 5m a year, take Cenk Tosun, 27m fee and another 20m in wages.

Hes a proven Premier League player, with a very good injury record, we all know what happens when he signs, but.........

Overall its a cheap deal, it really depends on how many years he wants.

The danger is, IF he gets injury prone, you will struggle to ship him out on those wages, I dont think his talent is in doubt and when I say talent, im not putting him in a wurld klass bracket, hes a fairly solid CB.

For me he's reliable in performance and consistently available which for us at the minute is something we need.

Thats it for me, I can see the pluses, but if we miss out, we miss out.

The concern would be, I think overall its a decent deal, hes free, what I mean is, we basically trade his wages for lets say Delphs.

But yeah, if he signs, welcome James, smash it, if he dont, on to the next.

We won't struggle to attract decent players, we will struggle to attract high profile players.

Signing high profile players has hardly been a resounding success for us anyway.

I see some decent players around this league who were not high profile.
The biggest issue Everton have is recruitment. We've been possibly the worst esp in terms of value for money.
This has to improve.

I don't think we're going to finish in the top half next season, so it's a build for me and with that in mind let's think longer term.

I don't think Tarkowski is any better than Keane nor Holgate. Stumping up c£100k a week for an average 30 year old (who's just got relegated) is completely uninspiring. Got to find better value and potential elsewhere.
