Cheeky to the established media view of who should be competing for honours. They hate the idea of any upstart club taking the place of one of their darlings at the top table.

We are a midtable team. Despite ancelotti, despite spending hundreds of millions , despite being one of the giants of the English game, we are a mid table team.

We need to be competitive with the team's above us before we start to have a little ambition. Jesus we have been eclipsed by Burnley and wolves in the past 2 seasons. Leiscter have eclipsed us the past 4 seasons (league title not included).

Before we all start acting like West ham fans , maybe we don't finish in the bottom half for a start and see where we go from there.

Tbf and this may surprise a few but the one who has praised Everton a lot and been very honest is jason cundy. The other fella goldstien is a right patronising beaut. He blocked me on twitter when i said he was about as funny as a dose of the clap.

we know it’s not the 80s sick of them always saying that. Can’t wait till we’re winning things again maybe then we will get the respect we deserve

An awful lot of people would predict Everton to finish around 8th, like they would every season. It is on Par for us, considering our turnover, wage bill etc.

An unbelievable season, as in one that is currently difficult to believe could happen, is qualifying for the Champions League.

A good season is qualifying for the Europa League.

Yup. A successful season for us would be Europa league. We need to build some momentum and hope Carlo can bring in some more top players over the next couple of windows.

We’ve beaten a few of them in the not so distant past. Now we seem to be solving the midfield out. We have one of the best managers in world football. I see no reason to be satisfied with 8th and a cup run. If that was the aim, Allan, Rodriguez or Carlo for that matter would not have come here. The ambition is, rightly so, breaking in to the top 6/4. Having had a few bad seasons on the bounce doesnt rewrite out history.

assuming we actually bring these players in. If we dont reinforce, thats a very different proposition

Sadly you're right.

We've recruited wrong, and we can hopefully build from there and push on. But am i hell being downer about James Rodríguez, Allan and Doucouré all in a week.
