1. He's 29 and the last 3 years has been poor in terms of performance and injury record.
2. He's in the last year of his contract and will have a poor sell-on value yet they are asking upwards of 30,000,000!
3. He hasn't played for months and has never experienced the physical requirements of our league.
4. He's Carlo's friend. He trusts him. Has leadership qualities and experience playing at the very top.
5. He once was great.

Come on that’s per minutes played , firmino has improved as he got older , James peaked at a World Cup and has been up and down since then . I’m not against it but it’s deffo a risk and we’ve had a hatful of signings backfiring on us

I couldn't give a toss what the RS think mate which is largely where I feel the reservations come from listening to them mouth off on social media - they've won the league, europe, dominated the world these past 2 years yet are obsessed with everything we do - we literally are their world and anything be it the new stadium or signing players they are all over social media making lies and doomsday predictions which some of our fans listen to and start flapping.

The only question that needs answering is he an improvement on what we have? If the answer is yes then he is worthwhile signing.

Obviously his recent injury record is a concern but being honest if he was fit every single week he would be going from Real to Barca/Bayern/City/Juventus not Everton.
