James McFadden

I don't necessarily think it was because McFadden was not good enough being the reason he left.It was down to the fact that Moyes could not guarantee him a starting berth and he wanted that security so he asked for the move.I remember Moyes saying he was disappointed that McFadden decided to leave but didn't want to stand in his way. Now I wasn't his biggest fan as i've already said in this thread, but thinking back moyes didn't necessarily dislike him. Those saying he was a reject at Birmingham are wrong, he got a bad injury and was out for their relegation season and did not re-sign because he didn't want to drop down a division. He hasn't signed for wolves because their are other clubs interested in him; namely Us, Villa and Celtic. Just adding a little balance to the posts who are going one way or the other. I don't see where he will fit in as we do now have more consistent( he was a genius on his day, which was one game in 50) players i.e. Osman, Cahill, Coleman and from what i've seen so far Drenthe, that all play in his positions. Add the fact that he will be holding back the promising Gueye and Vellios and it does leave a bit of confusion over this signing. Moyes does like McFadden though.

Very much true...He didnt like playing the wing as a fringe player and wanted attacking centre mid or striker.

I thought Brum didnt offer him a contract after his injury just like they didnt offer one to Bowyer?

Personally I dont see a problem with us signing him - we are short of players (apparently could noly scrape together 19 for the team photo!) as such why not sign someone who already knows the manager and the club so will not have a problem fitting in.

Its not like hes going to walk into the frist team but he adds depth to a very thin squad and on his day is a decent player.

its not a step backwards - its a means to an end as hes available NOW - compared to all other options which we couldnt get til January.

Just really hope the fanbase aren't nobheadish enough to boo him when he's announced before the game. Massively a confidence player and whether or not we agree with the signing, obviously we want him to be at his best, right?

Just read he might be going to Sland. At least that means he won't be signing back with us! (I can't post links yet, but I saw it on espn if anyone wanted to see for themselves)
