James McCarthy

his better games have actually been when he's been more attacking rather than as a strict defensive mid. But we have so many better options for the attacking birth.

I don't think we should sell him though ... well, it depends on what fee we could get before i say that, but i don't think he's happy here anymore.

Hes had a couple of poor seasons but I'd be disappointed if he leaves. Honestly reckon if he can get back to his best he is worth keeping and Barry only has one possibly two seasons left in him

Another one I would sell but only if we replace him. After Gueye and Barry our centre midfield options don't fill me with confidence.

Gibson never fit.

McCarthy, well can't pass anything other than back.

Cleverley very neat and tidy footballer but what does he do?

Agree a talented player, but he's probably got too much Martinez in his DNA for Koeman to change him.

You could say that about a number of players though. Barkley and Deulofeu, amongst others, are being asked for more work rate.
That said, it seems like RK is saying that, in his preferred position, there are at least 2 in front of him. Also when we play 5 at the back you can play RWB, when Coleman is injured!
Doesn't look good for him, so maybe a move is best for him?
I like the way Koeman is ruthless and makes his decisions but, also hope we don't lose the affection that ex players have for the club.
Win or be nice? Can we have both?
I like to win, the nicey nicey is a bonus.

McCarthy and Robles - two players destroyed by El Fraudo, and I can't see either recovering without a fresh challenge somewhere else.

Macca was turned into a crab with the sideways passing crap drilled into him.

Robles confidence shot being kept on the bench behind a faltering Howard - could have been a decent keeper for us.

I reckon both need to move on for their sakes - and ours.

Supposedly critical to the way we play, is that slow, backwards and no creativity?

Doesn't do enough for me, yes he can tackle, but offers nothing going forward. Really needs to up his game and start getting involved more.

Prescient

Yip.

If MaCarthy, Kone, Mc Geady and the Clev all follow Leon and Hibbo out the door this window the race will be on to finf new scapegoats.

Watch out Jags, Seamus and Baines

Jagielka probably the most likely candidate but Del a strong contender too, which is sad.

Don't forget Funes the Flop if he stays too
