James McCarthy

I love James McCarthy, but £30m+ for a defensive mid is something you have to think long and hard about (no idea whether rumor is true or numbers are accurate).

Only see how much work he does for the team when sitting in Goodison watching him. He has everything and will get better again this year and add more goals. We will see how valuable he is to the team when he is rested or out injured. Coleman stated that the reason he had such a good season was because of McCarthys workrate that allows he to bomb on.

SkyBet also suspended odds on Lukaku joining Wolsburg as well after some 'big' bets on it, pure bs. Our man is not going anywhere.

He isn't going anywhere.

This is a kid that turned down Liverpool at 16(?) so he could be a first teamer at Hamilton. He knows that he is absolutely vital and central to Martinez's plans, and he values that.

He'll leave us one day - if Martinez leaves.

Great post mate, couldn't of put it better myself.

Not overly concerned. If he does leave we have Barry, Gibson and Besic and we will get a huge fee for him anyway. Be more than we sold Fellaini for so we would have money to reinvest in the squad. Hopefully.

Think he will be an Everton player for a long time though, if we sell anyone I think Mirallas is the most likely.

You say "If sold by Kenwright" as if he routinely takes it upon himself to sell players his manager doesn't want to let go. Also, when was the last time we got "absolutely mugged" on a player sale?

Very naive. You think the manager calls the shots at the club? Neither Moyes nor Martinez would have been hired if they weren't on message with the club policy of bringing through/on players and selling them. That's not me saying that, that's Elstone (regarding sale of players).
