Fabulous player and we got a bargain. He's young, but you're going to get full value over the years as his injury record is outstanding.

A vital player in Martinez' system, he's been outstanding this season.

Big Nev once said that he thinks a certain type of player is born to be an Everton player, now I don't believe in any higher power but the sentiment of that quote resonates greatly with McCarthy. Unwavering effort and good ability on the ball, if anyone was born to be an Everton player, it's this lad.
