I think today perhaps indicates how, thanks to Gibson's injury, the success our season could be decided by the availability of our central midfield partnership. They seem to made of pretty solid stuff though so hopefully we'll be okay.

A position that sometimes the importance of the players is only seen by some when their missing, barry vs city one example, mccarthy today another one mate, we deffo need a 3rd option of top quality in their, fernando or defour anyone, plus with dele getting crocked today, its highlighted we dont have another pacey option as att mid really either, de bruyne anyone?

Something's got to give in January you feel. I'd be made up with any of those three. The board need to show some ambition for once. If they do, we really could make it into the top 4. Everything else is in place as far as I'm concerned.

World cup year provides options to get people in who value game time more importantly that playing right now in europe etc, provides a rare chance to get people from a team like chelsea, should really go all out for de bruyne imo AND any one of 4/5 centre mids we've been linked with, isreali guy in russia or the czech lid could both do a good job as well as the two i mentioned earleir, wont have the money to fix everywhere but those two we could and maybe get a loan striker in to help out their mate, needs to be action in jan to maintain what weve got started so far this year

De bruyne would be ace, like. If I was Jose I certainly wouldn't be giving him to us. Unless he really doesn't rate him, in which case I think he must truly hate Belgians.
 
with Gerard out we REALLY need to bring someone else in if just for cover at the least. I can see Barry picking up a card in the next few matches and then Osman is in. If he is gash, who's the cover for him? McCarthy, as ace as he is, cant do it ALL by himself.

Yes, defo.

I just cant understand how an astute coach like Martinez thought pairing up Osman and Barry in this particular fixture was a good idea. It's the type of thinking I associate with Moyes. Despite his goal it wasn't the smart move.
