been quality since he arrrived. wasnt sure as i never heard of him. you always want the 'marquee' signing. cant believe how young he is. absolute quality.
Best Everton player for 40 years.
Dunno how I'd find my post but I said way back that he would be excellent for us, would be a first team automatic choice and would also be a fan favourite by Xmas! I can't see him upsetting that before now and turkey day.
In the first half there was a couple of bits where he got closed down and he just kept his head and turned then turned again and picked his pass. I think under Bobby we are going to have a lot more games that really mean something position-wise and trophy wise and this is the kid who will have the head for it when the chips are down.
My most definite MOTM!
Well to describe what stands out about him for me is that he can turn possession over very quickly by being in exactly the right place at the right time, including interceptions on attacks going into the box. It is in this way that he reminds me of Keane. He produces this little burst of pace to win one on ones and get his team on the attack.
Now from there, he will most often pick a pass, mostly simple, to one of the attacking players. His positioning and reading of the game is very good for his age.
He has shown in glimpses that he can hold possession in tight positions further forward also before calmly laying it off. He was very very good in a friendly against Spain for example whilst being pressed.
Now this is just my gut feeling but he can get forward more than we'd expect and is improving his shooting and willingness to join the attack. I think in a better team now and with the confidence it will give him he will become a very exciting box to box mid who can also play the sitting/holding role for us with no lack of passing ability.
I am 100% sure this kid will be in our first team for seasons to come, and will be a fan favourite.
