...I like what I see and thought he had a particularly good 1st half. Saying that, neither him or Barry could get to grips with the French boy who came on. He not only scored a fine goal, but he ran the show and it is a little concern that we didn't manage the threat he brought.

Tbf I thought that this was in no small part due to them cramming the midfield, even their forwards dropped back 10 yards to really shrink the space we were allowed, any team would find it difficult to play in that environment. They didn't even try too, they just humped it alllllllll game. It was a good move tactically by Pardew, but only in the way that it stopped us playing and getting to the second ball, not in a way of helping them play at all, but they were, or were at least gambling on being more equipped for the hoof.

He could have a mare against city but it doesnt mean hes 5hite.

Hes 22 so got years to learn and progress and being around better players he can only improve. Barry will be a massive help to him and if he has 2 years to learn from barry he could become a hell of a player.

I think every player needs 10 starts in the first team to truly feel like they belong, relax and start expressing themselves fully.

Its all boding really, really well and its so exciting to see this squad coming together under the new manager.

I'm impressed with his intensity and tenacity. Very quick to close down the opposition. Doesn't mind doing the dirty work which I think will make him a real Goodison favorite.
