You could say that for Moyes: no fee, small fee, money barely back on all but a few of his purchases. Fellaini and Stones were probably the best profits we got on Moyes' signings. Arteta a good profit.

Lukaku was quite simply the signing of the 21st Century. Value on the pitch + profit. Cleverley and Deulofeu fees were profitable too.

You know what Dave, many times I disagree with your statements... and I can see the angle from your perspective even if I disagree (Hope you find my questions insightful rather than annoying).

But this one is baffling. Coleman & signing Rooney as a kid are stratosphere’s above Lukaku. And they are not even considering Cahill, Arteta et al.

Let’s not forget Stones, bought for 3m sold for 47.5.

He’s fishing again with his pathetically weird Martinez rod.

It wont come to that. Not if Jug head is a proper DoF.

Sorry mate but you are bang out of order here.
You generally amuse me with your going against the flow / WUM postings.
However , recently (and admittedly begrudgingly) you have been admitting that Brands has been doing a reasonable job , in your eyes !.
Why now resort to "jug head" comments.
Childish and puerile , in my view. How does this advance the debate , and us as a club ?.

He did, 07-10 multiple European qualifications, a cup final, derby wins, sadly ruined by three ACL injuries to the spine of his team in one season.

Lukaku aside we’ve not recruited well since Moyes left. Finally it looks like we could be.
You could argue a lot of what Moyes bought were duds mate. He also only sold his best at their peak for good money, he sold himself too to United while he was still contracted to Everton.

The difference is that Moyes had some duds whereas Martinez bought nearly all duds Lukaku aside.

I’ve no problem if people don’t like him because of the United business but the man was a genius at recruitment. Took us from perennial relegation candidates to multiple European qualifications breaking the top 6 numerous times and even the top 4 once all achieved on a budget that was minimal in comparison to most of the top half of the prem. After the debacles of Martinez, Koeman and Allardyce I would have thought Moyes’ talents in player trading would be more appreciated but it seems that some people just hate Moyes and won’t give him anything. A sad way to treat the man who singlehandedly saved this club.

I think Barry, Delboy , McCarthy and Lukaku were decent. He didn't sign too many because he wasn't here too long. Moyes was here 11 YEARS.

His recruitment was average to good
( have a closer less biased look). What he achieved though which was not the topic of discussion was good but not at all great.
