Peter Reid only became the Peter Reid we know and love after a succession of injuries threatened his career. Lost best part of 5 seasons IIRC. But, hey, let's not let the facts get in the way.
Btw, after Reid was virtually written off as 'injury prone' he managed to limp his way to a few shiny things. Amongst them...

"he enjoyed the most fruitful spell of his career, as he helped the club win domestic and European honours, including the Football League twice. He was voted as the PFA Players' Player of the Year in 1985 and came fourth in the World Soccer Player of the Year award, behind Michel Platini, Preben Elkjær and Diego Maradona. He also received his first senior England call-up that year, and represented his country at the 1986 FIFA World Cup and 1988 UEFA European Championship"

Not bad for a fella who was considered injury prone.

So, yeah, let's punt Jimmy Mc cos he's injury prone. ;)

The injury talk is garbage. When he finally looked to overcome his injuries, and was covering ground - he gets his leg taken in the most unlucky circumstances; stopping a bloody goal! It isn't as if that injury was a follow on to all his prior injuries. Completely unlucky.

Is he playing with the 23s? What is actually happening with him?

That's why I posted about having the right manager....but never the less...he's not an EFC midfield player however way you dress it up

It was his mistake that created the opportunity for a goal in the first place.

Reckon he’d give us the legs we need in midfield

Despite all the evidence over the last four seasons directly to the contrary?

Look, McCarthy has had ONE good season with us. That was his first season, absolutely beards ago. He's done. Normally I'd be inclined to say that player coming back from long-term injury should be given time to prove his fitness again, but this fella is Darren Anderton-level in terms of injury history. He will break again, and I'd prefer he was on someone else's payroll for his next five-month stint in the treatment room.

Sell. Free transfer. Toss him in the river, in a canvas bag weighed down with pig iron. Just get rid.

You said he wouldn't become the next Peter Reid after injury.
I merely pointed out that Peter Reid became Peter Reid after injury and the folly of the 'injury prone' tag being attached to a player.

Gana gave the ball away iirc, McCarthy tried to recover it.

EDIT it was Keane actually
Ganas....
Gana and Keane weren’t even playing you utter dangers.

It was his fault, he dwelt on the ball and was closed down, he panicked and played a ball about a yard -as he does - to Schneiderlin. It was behind him and as it was Schneiderlin he couldn’t sort his feet out to get it. They picked the ball up and played in rondon, and McCarthy tracked him and made the tackle.

Sorry I mean't he wouldn't be the next PR regardless of injury....hope that clears it up for you.

McCarthy plays a 5 yard pass to Keane who let's it run through his legs then can't recover.

The state of people blaming a player for breaking his own leg.
