He plays for Wigan mate, that's enough for all reasoned analysis to be shut down and a frothing rant to take its place.

The lad's good from what I can remember. We can talk all day about value for money, but anyone who doesn't even concede immediately he has a talent for what he does is beyond reach.
 


McCarthy would be a decent cheap replacement for fellaini, but we should not be considering paying anything close to 50% of what we receive for Fellaini. He should really cost 6-8 million. For transfer deadline day, no more than 10, presuming we get 30 for Fellaini. McCarthy is not in the same league as Fellaini, and that should be represented in price. If Wigan want 15 for him, we should demand 45 for Fellaini, or not do that deal.

Yeah agreed so lets see at the end of the day how it pans out. Even then we'll have to give it some time to see if those brought in are right for the club and any good at togger.

The up front thing is a problem not just because were perceived to be lacking a decent striker, but we have seemingly two out of form ones. If Fellaini goes then midfield will be priority. And after that, well we'll have to see.
