2025/26 James Garner

Eh? His games at LB were Leeds, Brighton, Villa. Leeds was a horrorshow but we beat Brighton 2-0 and played Villa off the park
We've also looked atrocious with him at LB*, my bad, not every game like.

Either way, we do not need makeshift anything unless it's a crisis situation. It's great he can fill there for a game or something but he should stay at CM where he's at his best. Similarly we should have a full squad (novel idea apparently as we've failed to do so for years now ).

Hahah yes no argument there.

I guess I can just envisage a world where the recruitment team find a perfect upgrade at the 6 position, but not at RB, and in that case I'd be perfectly happy to move him over. Really think he's just as good if not better there but I appreciate it's not based on much so it's not a hill I'll die on ha

His performances have sky rocketed this year. I'll admit that, a year ago, I couldn't envisage him as any more than a squad player, but if he keeps building on his levels then he could be a key part of our midfield for years

Definitely benefited from Grealish and KDH. Good players play better with better players eh? Who'd have funk it

Playing with KDH, Grealish and N’Diaye has improved Garner’s close control and forward play no end.

Been superb this season.
Passes it forward more now he trusts those ahead of him and also those ahead of him work the ball to him as the spare man so that he can set the tempo

Probably been the thing I've been most impressed with this year is his game management and control. He'll run a game from deep against some teams

….the best international teams do not necessarily contain the country’s best players. It’s also important to have versatility in a squad of limited numbers because it allows the manager leeway in not having to double up each position.
Agree, not always about having the best players but having the best 'team'.

Surprising that he looks better under a manager who is attempting to play with the ball.

Assessments under Dyche should be nil and void.

It’s why Gana looked fantastic last season but looks underwhelming this season.

Some players are better with the ball, some players are better without it.

Those who understand football have always seen what Jimmy Garner brings.

Fantastic player, comfortably a top six player.

You will see improvement in James if our journey of bringing in better players and progressing as a club continues.

Garner has more gears to go through, hugely under rated.

Could truly become a club legend.

Is that right??

It wont contain Garner. It's very optimistic this talk.
