2025/26 James Garner

Went missing. Playing with Gueye next to him doesn’t suit him. At times though he was just jogging back and had Liverpool players running off him. They played mid week as well.

Just not good enough.

He won the ball more times than anyone on the pitch in blue or red. Other than a period of 15 minutes after their first goal when they killed the tempo, I thought Garner in particular and the middle three in general did really well.

He won the ball so much because we didn’t have it.

The best midfielders control the game. We didn’t have any real control in possession at any point.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion but surprised at this as never saw that at all. Looked like Gana was doing all the work in there for me.

Gana totally went missing in the centre of midfield for the last 20 mins.
They played through us almost unchallenged in that time.

Probably should have put Tim in there for the closing stages.

Major contender for player of the season but had an off performance today, not horrible but just had some significant defensive lapses that were uncharacteristic for him and he was less involved on the ball then he usually is

Gana is 36 so Moyes will always start him.

Depends on their role of course as they may be a world class 'destroyer' but Garner was ace today at tackling but not much else sadly.

The most notable thing related to Garner yesterday was @Eggs lying about his Dad dying.

Then posting about it on here.

File under him being Harrison Armstrongs next door neighbour.

They say bad things come in threes...

One of the few players that can be forgiven for an off game as he's been pretty much 8 or 9 out of 10 aside from that this season and one of the key reasons we are even fighting for a European spot.

Went the toilet 15 mins before kick off and heard that rumour, assuming it’s not true?

It was going round the south stand too just before the game started.
