Never actually rated Garner. I’m not sure what he offers at all. It’s weird because apparently he was brilliant for Forest on loan. Low and behold he comes to us and downs tools.
I reckon we could get 18-25 million for him from a newly-promoted club, if there was interest I'd deffo sell. His all-round game isn't good enough.

Yeah that's very confusing tbh. Was slotting free kicks in for fun at Forest. 8 goals and 10 assists in 69 games, versus 2 goals and 4 assists in 80 games for Everton. Actually his stats in terms of goals / assists per game at Everton is the worst in his career by far - bar a brief loan spell at Watford when he was 20. I personally see him as a slightly better and less annoying version of Tom Davies.
You know what it’s like - some Evertonians aren’t happy unless they’ve got someone to slag off.
There’s also an inability to see people as “ok”, they’re either world class or terrible. Think of the stick Leon Osman used to get for example.
Thankfully most people at the match get behind the players.

He seems a capable squad player for a bottom half side with ambitions of getting towards the top 10. He is versatile as he can fill in at Right Back if needed.
I suppose our ambition next season is to get towards the top 10, so for that reason, he may be a useful squad player to have for another season.
If we want to be challenging the likes of Villa and Newcastle or anyone around the top 6 after next season we need far better players than Garner. He is very limited and doesn't offer enough.
