2025/26 Jake O'Brien

He wont have many games more suited to him but I never felt like we would concede tonight and the central partnership is the main reason.

I know Keane has had some good displays this season, but I do feel we'll always concede when he's in the team. He allows himself to be dragged around the pitch too much, which opens the defence up. He doesn't have a good parternship with Tarkowski, and really Keane has never had a good parternship with anyone.

I wouldn't move him back to the right, but no doubt Moyes will.

Him and a fully fit JB in the middle of 2 marauding full backs 🥵.

He’s very mobile for a tank. Loved him getting his massive frame in front of the winger with ease, turning then dancing past him tight along the touchline. All the minutes Moyes has given him have massively increased his composure, with more to come.

Tarky should take credit for nurturing another beast of a defender.

Struggle to believe that after putting 396 crosses in during the first half, Sean “Masterclass podcast on beating the RS years ago” Dyche’s plan was to chip another 4,039 in for Jake to head away.

JOB is a great central defender against teams who are going to play such tactics. If you keep lumping it into the centre forward then he will deal with that all day long. He is tall and heads the ball well. He can play in a low block.
Against teams with more movement up front and more intricate play, or at home where we might play more on the front foot and with a higher line he will be exposed as being positionally poor and slow. (Like he is at right back).
Baffles me how people think he is slow. He is absolutely rapid for a centreback. The pace of him and Branthwaite alongside two overlapping fullbacks will be the real game changer for this team.
