2025/26 Jake O'Brien

Clearly a CB. Garner is more of a RB. Problem solved.

Only problem is that we cant take a free kick on the left without Garner having to go over to it and leave us out of shape...or a throw in on the right high up the pitch without O'Brien being miles out of position if the move breaks down.

KDH will re-enter the lineup at some point and that will change. I am not too worried about that long term.

Looked and played so much more comfortably at cb, big performance when he moved back there following Keggers injury.

He’s done his best at rb and done a fine job in the main, but he’s been up against some tricky wingers and been exposed a few times.

If Keggers is out for a while, he goes back to cb if Branners is still out, and we play a proper rb or move garner over there (not my favourite option but needs must).

Well done JOB lad, keep going mate.

He's done well at right back overall, but it's not his position naturally and teams will target this because why wouldn't you? It will be a good headache to have at centre back when you're thinking who is the best combination between tark/O'Brien/Branthewaite and Keane

I thought he was poor at right back again yesterday to be honest, but did really well when he moved inside.

Agreed. Though his upturn in play largely coincided with Alcaraz being inserted as an actual midfielder.

The team was set up wrong and failed because of it in the first half. The stars of the first half were Keane and Pickford as they had to handle multiple last-ditch challenges and saves.

In what way
Well we’re here complaining about the fact one of our full backs isn’t a natural there and you’re proposing a solution where we choose to put two full backs out who aren’t naturals there instead, with our best centre half playing a position he’s never played before, an unproven centre half taking his place, and our most in form centre half dropped. So quite a lot of ways.
