O'Brien playing out on the right to me says Moyes is not confident of strengthening in that position this window. Let's be honest, if you've got £15m to play with, RB is hardly the top priority in the Jan transfer window. If we can pick up a value attacker +/ creative midfielder with that money, then that'll do

Moyes has a history of bedding his future centre backs playing full back and had a good bit of success .
He gave Jags a run at right back and Lescott at left back in his previous spell here.

I think Moyes see's a long term future for young O'brien when a regular Centre back berth becomes available.

Left back is still a priority, but morso attacking options.

Yeah we should of played him earlier but stuck out with keano cause he can score a goal now and again or make a tackle now and again but turned us into a scared defence 90% of the time

….i’m sure Moyes said he started him because he wanted to have a look at him (sensible) and because he thought he’d give us more from an attacking perspective (which I though was a little strange).
He's got a decent record of scoring goals for a defender hasn't he? We need as many goals as possible! 🤣

not while Tarks is consistently our best CB. Give it a year or so I reckon but think it will be Tarks and Jake before too long with Branthwaite elsewhere

Tarkowski needs replacing if we want to have any hope of being anything other than a perennial relegation battling side. He’s proven over the course of his career that that’s his level.

He is still very good and consistently so. He will have at least another year in him whereas we know Branthwaite is going to be one of the best but so far this season (due to lack of pre-season) has been sporadic. JOB has only just got into the team and we will have high hopes for him but we have to see more of him to pass the judgement. Just feel it would be daft to drop Tarks for Jake at this time.

I don’t agree I think he’s been terrible this season and is routinely exposed when asked to play anything other than a low block.
