As long as he's not out of the Arsenal game its fine (always hard to know with Martinez how serious an injury is)....ideally against a team like west ham, who will play long to Carroll, you'd want Jags playing.....but the league is pretty much done now, FA Cup is the only important thing....hopefully Lukaku, Deulofeu, Barkley & McGeady can get much needed match time on saturday to build their fitness up for Arsenal game....

I disagree, tbh. We have four games on the spin that are all very winnable. Get 12 points from them and let's see where we are. I think we can get 5th and it would be a real sign of progress if we could get it. It'll be a good draw for player recruitment in the summer too.

Alcaraz has been good in every game bar the liverpool one. (A game in which Mirallas was the only player to have a good game)

Been to every game he has played in, bar the liverpool game which i watched on tv.

He has been very good in all of those games bar Liverpool.

I think alcaraz is a great defender and he is miles ahead of his competition in terms of distribution from the back

With distins speed as cover i cant see any reason not to start him

No need for all this bad feeling towards Alcaraz. As people have said, apart from the derby, where most players didn't perform, he's been ok.

We should be getting behind the players, not treating them as scapegoats. That shouldn't be our way of doing things - how do you expect a player to perform when the fans are on their back for nothing?

And isn't Alcaraz supposed to be 'fit' now - If we can beat Saints with Alacaraz we can defo beat West Ham.

Jags has been reported to be playing through a knock hasn't he?

I'd imagine we're just taking the chance to sit him out of one, with the added benefit that this rules him out of the England game.

Stones struggled a bit in one of his games where he was caught out under long balls a few times. If it was most other teams I'd play him, but I'd probably be inclined to go for Alcaraz if he's fit for this one.

I like alcaraz. His distribution is excellent. Sometimes Id rather him play when we need a calm head on the ball. Jags and Distin have looked pretty dodgey sometimes when put under pressure.
