Would this be good business, allowing us to strengthen the squad in other areas, or is it a non-starter?

PS Can't post full url's yet

So you'd sell our two best players for less than the price of Andy Carroll?

The **** is going on with this club??

Well, when phone-in's have Everton mentioned in the same breath as "Leeds" and "Portsmouth" on how NOT to run a club...things get a bit depressing.

That's loads of money, but if we value Jags at £18M, that would only be £10M for Arteta. I only hope that banks keep their mouths shut (not force us to sell publicly) during this transfer window, so we can continue with this roster, or decide the prices our selves, if not, we'll never get to negoatiate good fees for our players. I still doubt that we'll sell anyone (Yobo and Yak excluded), nor will buy someone to improve our strike "force"

£14 million each for 2 world class, premiership proven players.

Do they think we're mugs or something?

£35m for Andy Carroll was the result of Kenny hitting the meths hard.

It's not a good comparison for anything. A one-off, ludicrous price.

But it sets a precedent, and I thought it was Baines, not Arteta.

We'd only have to pay our debts though, but who knows, selling those two might see some other superstars coming through who never would have got the chance.

So you think Jagielka and Arteta are worth more than £28m? lmao.

Their both 29 years of age and after Arteta's poor season last year we'd struggle to get 10m for him - fact. Infact Arsenal wouldn't be stupid enough to offer that much for the 2 players.

If we got 28m for 2 good premiership players I'd be happy. Neither are worldclass!!!

The 35m spent on Carroll was on potential aswell as his current ability. Overpriced yes, but less so when you look at his age.
