Jagielka

Playing better recently but would still drop him as soon as Baines is fit. Simple facts are that Yobo/Lescott are better players so its tough luck on Jag

Jagielka has been good this season. He has a good tackle, a good header, a good shot (even though we havnt seen it - yet) and he loves teh acrobatic clearences, he cant resist the volley either...

Hes been good this season, just had a few mistakes in the defence, but so has lescott and yobo... THe best defence is with jagielka and yobo in the centre, lescott on the left.

I think our best defence would be

Yobo------Jags-------Lescott------Bains

Joey has played there a few times for us, if not id rather jags an lescott at cb. neville at rb an baines at lb. IMO anyway.

Yeah Yobo has played RB but he's also been pretty poor there too. CB is definitely Yobo's only position. To keep Jags in the team I would certainly look at trying to mould him into that RB role. As good as Jags has been, Yobo makes easy work of it most the time, barring the odd mistake. Yobo, Lescott must surely be one of the best central defensive partnership in europe right now.

i'd prefer jags at RB before yobo. yobo is never going to be the commanding vocal defender that managers often entrust with the captaincy, nevs hasnt got many seasons left, could jags or lescott step up?

I dont think Lescott is the most vocal or commanding either though. I think Jags, although he's still finding his feet a little, is definitely more captain material, but I think that will also depend on how much of a regular he becomes in the team.

If he can transfer his current CB form to RB then I'm sure he could hold the position down, but he'll struglle with Yobo and Lescott in front of him.
