Jagielka: 1 year Extension

Happy with this, Jags still has a part to play for us and experienced cover for CB. The meltdown of the bedwetters is just the icing on the cake for me lol
Yet another mistake to add to the collection. Given up caring

Until things change within the club we will be forever chasing top six, with the same old story every season of we want the top four.. and the same old outcome every season of missing out

Loved jags in his prime but it's time to go. Absolute lack of ambition by Everton giving him a new deal. Wasn't he dropped on more than one occasion last year

This tastes like chocolate.

I call this one; Zat lures in another 'one for the future'

1 year extensions is modern footballs version of a benefit match, which since Niall Quinn started it, they have to lob the cash at a charity these days.

He's been a great professional and a wonderful example to our younger players. I'd love it if he retired here and then moved into coaching with the younger age groups at the club.

He'll play a minimal part this season and we'll hopefully get another CB in, so he'll be even further down the pecking order, but if called upon I expect he'd do a decent job. We're going through a huge transition and I'd rather we didn't cull the whole squad in one go.

Jags wasn't past it time ago. Can koeman not open his eyes for once? He's not good enough! Why on earth give him a year extension until he's gone 36!

This is a clear sign funds arnt available to replace him

This is what happens when we have an older squad all of a sudden players need replacing and we don't have the funds to do it all in one go so we just extend their deals!

Offers nothing.

I wouldn't have been against it if this news came out in March 2018, having proved himself useful this year.

Now though? Completely stupid.

I'd agree

YES YES

You cannot say that it makes you a kopite according to some, shall we say Everton fans in here.
He was ok a few seasons back. Has been, all told, a good signing...not great, but good. But he had to go last summer never mind this summer...and now we have him for two more seasons!

It's an utter pisstake.

As said, I think this is a decision made on the basis that the Sigurdsson fee is so outrageously OTT it's only going to leave room for a FW to be brought in.

The defence is a shambles. I dont think many will deny that at this moment.
