Being honest I don't see the point, one year left on his contract was a sufficient state of affairs.

I'd have hoped this time next year another quality starting centre half and left back would have come in, pushing Baines to the bench and funes mori and jagielka out the door.

@davek might get some stick but I agree not convinced by our defence at all, a year older and creakier all round bar Keane.

Jags wasn't past it time ago. Can koeman not open his eyes for once? He's not good enough! Why on earth give him a year extension until he's gone 36!

This is a clear sign funds arnt available to replace him

This is what happens when we have an older squad all of a sudden players need replacing and we don't have the funds to do it all in one go so we just extend their deals!
