I do believe he would be a useful player for us next season, at least he was more useful than VDM would be, and we needed back-up player in the RB position, so it's worth having him around next season.

Can't defend and often gets caught going too far forward. That being said he doesn't look bad on the attack and and provides decent depth at the position. He should be used more often as a sub for Hibbert when we are down by a goal.

However I'd sell him for 1.5-2M if a recently promoted team offers it and he wants to go.

I think he's personally too static when going forward and at times makes Hibbert look like Dani Alves.

He's a decent player none the less and looks a solid player, i'd certainly give him another contract but i think he'll probably want to leave. Mind you, it's not Moyes' fault that he went and got himself injured on international duty for 5 months, so it's his fault really, that he didn't get much playing time before Portsmouth.

I like him and we cant "sell" him, because hes a free agent at the end of the season.

Wouldnt like to say if hes better than Hibbert, but would like to keep him if we can.

So your saying it was Jacobsen's fault he got his injury? I for one cant forgive him for that! :o

Yer didn't you see him in that Denmark match? Went to punch Elmander in the face and dislocated his shoulder.

In his defense Elmander has a very punchable face. Bolton fans would also agree.

I'd want to keep him. He seems a step-up from Hibbert IMO. The game on Saturday I felt Ossie was leaving him open too much and not helping out going back or forward. Give him a proper winger to play off, he'll do well.

I don’t think we'll keep him though. He's good enough to be a 1st team player in someones team, and if Moyes cant guarrantee him 1st team footy he'll be off. It was rumoured Bayern were interested in him.

I must be the only person not bowled over by him.

I think he gives us absolutely nothing going forward. I don't remember him putting in one cross on Saturday, and the one time he got the ball in the area he got a nosebleed and lost it tamely.

Only because Ossie never bothered helping him out. You look at Pienaar and Baines they always close and cover each other.

Ossie was wandering into the middle all the time and never bothered once in helping out Lars going back. You could see him standing in acres of space, and when he did get the ball Lars had no one to pass to cos his winger had buggered off.

Osman very rarely links with his winger, he's usually very central and alot of our play comes from left and central areas, the right hand side is quite poor.

Jacobsen very rarely saw the ball in attacking positions, he certainly couldn't get beyond Osman because Leon wasn't there. He only started to get forward when Rodwell was introduced, Rodwell's passing ability being key here.

What I like about him was he didn’t get flustered, he shows a lot of composure. He was putting his foot on the ball and looking for options, looking for the short pass. Hibbert on the other hand is always trying to get rid of the ball and in big games lacks composure. Not slating him, that’s just the way he plays.

Don’t get me wrong, there’s nothing special about him but he’s solid, he’s settled here and on a free he’d be a good squad player. He’d provide competition for Hibbert and Neville aswell as giving us the option of using Phil “the playmaker” Neville in midfield.

True that. One of the worries for the final is a good defence deliberately snuffing out Baines/Pienaar because there's usually not too much happening on the other side (although I thought Neville had some good games over there).

Jacobsen is fine for the squad - a bit worse in the tackle than Hibbert but better going forward. The only thing I haven't liked about him is getting caught out of position going forwards sometimes, but a lot of that is building up an understanding which you don't get if you don't play. Be silly not to keep him if he's willing to stay.
