Strange how some ex-players are embracing like Piennar who actively looked to leave but lads who have spent most of their lives at the club and fall on bad times, despite the thousands of £ each week, we just crucify them!

He won't play for us again so no harm, no foul.

He might even have a sobering effect of the younger members of the team aka Davies, Kenny, Lookman to remind them that the grass isn't always greener.

He`s a multi millionaire, so he hasn`t fallen on hard times.

As for having a " sobering " effect on the younger players. He`s spent the past few years, bleeding Sunderland dry, with seemingly no real desire to ever get fit and start playing footy again.

My heart bleeds for him.

Footballers don't live like us mate, if anything it shows we look after the lads who have failed which is admirable in some senses, ( Jeffers, Baxter, Rodwell ) -- i expect Barkley back in a few years, along with Gibson. (n)
