Need him back for the Forest and Brentford games then I'd rest him again for the Wolves game before bringing him back for the cup game.

He's got to be used so we get the maximum quality for us. Sitting out two games where we really should be pulverising the opposition (Burnley and Wolves) is just common sense.

That's an interesting dilemma: do we prioritise FA Cup or league points (or both!).

I can see the logic in prioritising ONLY 6 FA Cup games.

But I can also see that a potential 6 points gained against (perceived) weaker teams would push us well up the table. Gaining us confidence.

Neither option could be presumed. On balance I think I'd prioritise the league.

Yet Jack has performed well for us. I'm happy for him to have an extended break.

Not sure what to think really.

If the stories are true about a pre Christmas blow out, then you would make sure you were fit and ready to play next game.

To cry off doesn’t look good. Especially at a time your team are short thru AFCON and injuries.

Some say lack of professionalism is what effectively ended his career under Pep.

What is the source of these stories?
Why are we even discussing them?
If what stories are true?
How do you know he 'cried off' how doesn't it look good?
The official line is he is ill and I haven't seen anything of substance to say otherwise.

Loves moyes no doubt as hes not punished for lateness, can hit strip clubs and go drinking...

He and Foden were caught, not once but twice at night clubs, both were binned off last season as a result.

Pep is crazy strict, weight, diet, tactics, footage etc.

He also didn’t think Jack could do it every three days anymore. Once a week sure.

Not saying Jack wasn’t sick or anything at the weekend or that he doesn’t give it all. But there are reasons he’s here and not at City anymore.

In truth , he enjoys a drink in his time off, it’s allowed - he won’t be crucified for it the way he was at City, we’ll be more accommodating because of his talent.

Really good summation of my personal beef with it. Ideally we should be striving for sporting and conditioning perfection now, not accommodating admittedly very talented but slightly maverick players.

That kind of behaviour from highly influential players can infect club culture especially easily led academy players.

I do get the risk/reward element to it as right now, we're not in a position to attract elite players with no baggage at the peak of their powers. Frustrating.

His best response now is to score the winner v Forest and give it the dentists chair or something
