If not how would you define an assist? You seem to be suggesting that pass length and distance from goal are metrics that should also be included?

Tbf o kind of get what he’s saying … said the same watching MOTD when semano or whatever his name is skinned the full back and nutmegs the keeper from an almost impossible angle for Bournemouth… came up with the goal scorer and “assist “ next to it …

Having said that … Jack intentionally draws two or more players in and creates the space and opportunity so I do think his should be classed as an assist as he does this countless times every game and it’s obviously intensional
