Pretty clear that these owners had no plan - or, if they did, they were hopeless at executing.I see the ones who turned their noses up in June are now desperate for him to arrive . So much for the plan.
No.Is Everton going to get a pts deduction thanks to City's overspending again?
Will he though? If he is willing to come on loan, just get him, he will improve the team instantly.
Be our best player along side NdiayeWill he though?
Duncan usually wore shinpads and socks pulled up. Although he was the type of player one might expect to be socks down à la Dave Thomas!I do hope so, " we all agree, Duncan McKenzie is magic".
Thing is it’s not really on the buying club to sort out any shortfall between his existing contract and what he’s owed by their current club.Stupid wages do cause chaos for players when they drop off. I don’t blame them, but it does make everything they do and say a bit embarrassing.
Player: I just want to play football. I want to go somewhere I’m appreciated and I can express myself.
Buying club: Based on your last 2 years form, we’ll offer £130k per week. We’d love you in our squad and think you could take us to the next level.
Player: But I’m on over £300k a week?
Buying club: But you aren’t playing, the manager left you out of a summer squad and you are training alone.
Player:.
Unrealistic these days to see a player take a 60% pay cut to just play every week. But wouldn’t it be amazing if one did.
Sadly im inclined to agree with you at this point . Moyes was the safe bet at the time i get that , but you've got to back him .Pretty clear that these owners had no plan - or, if they did, they were hopeless at executing.
Do you really think hiring Moyes was the "plan" when they took control? Or scrabbling around now, being constantly rejected in the dog days of the window like a drunk teen at a soon-to-close nightclub? They've been confounded by events time and time again.
These fellas might pull a few rabbits out of the hat by September 1, but any real hope we had that they would be a serious proposition has shrunk like a pair of Jack Grealish shorts in the wash.
They've been great for our finances. Fair dues. But right now the idea that they might flip us when they've sorted our finances out is not the dangerous change some of us might have feared...
It's been a bit of a disaster, Phil. I was really hopeful about the Friedkins. I was disappointed they plumped for Moyes in January - I wanted a brand new face for a brand new era, not the detritus of "Good Times" - but, as it turned out, he was unquestionably the right choice to keep us up. They got that decision bang on in terms of survival. However, the alarm bells rang for me as I hoped they'd have had something a little more future-oriented lined up. But it was hard to quibble with the job Moyes did. Keeping him on became inevitable - but I hoped they had greater reach. Moshiri brought in Carlo. What could these guys do? As it turned out, Moyes deserved to stay on and be backed. But they have really let him down.Sadly im inclined to agree with you at this point . The last thing we need going into a new stadium is walls between the owners and the manager.
This will then alienate the fans at some point . We are divided as it is

I still think they will redeem something of themselves before September, but my hope that they would be a seriously competent game-changing outfit was for the birds. They are financially competent - that, in itself, is a massive improvement. But they don't appear to have the wherewithal to make us truly competitive again. At least, there is no evidence to suggest they do.
