Transfer Rumour Jack Grealish

Pwhoar. Look at them baby cows

If they would of gotten him through the door early on on photos and selling shirts etc , maybe these "good" players who have turned Everton down according to Moyes may have reconsidered. The mood would be better thats for sure and hes an "elite " player afterall.

Every club and every window needs a catalyst

I said no chance, about 99 pages ago.

However, I would really like us to push on with this.

Whilst it will be a challenge with salary, it would show some intent on signing talent.

My hope would be that it would attract other players and show that we are serious with investment and our plans.

Brilliant insight pal.

So you don't think he'll sign for us but we might?

I get your point, I think as much as a "statement signing", the other factor might be that Moyes wants a couple of players who can come in and have an immediate impact. Dibling (if it happens), Barry and Aznou are all exactly the kind of players we should be signing, but to supplement that we probably need a couple of players who can lift our level immediately.

Grealish, as a loan, would probably make a lot of sense in this respect. Douglas Luiz too for that matter. They'd be expensive loans, but they'd both probably raise the profile of the team and (fingers crossed) hit the ground running

If we were going for him it would have made more sense to 'overpay' on his loan/wages to entice others to join...a month ago.

Now i see it as El Khannouss £22.5mil vs Grealish £10mil loan. Just doesnt make financial sense.

Though if we got him and Luiz for a season and both hit the ground running (after missing our preseason?) then we'd have to get europe to make it worth it

He got made into a Pepbot and it removed all the good from his game imo.

"Pepbot"

Excellent analysis.

Yeah, it would have been better a month ago but neither Luiz nor Grealish are going to leave until late in the window until City and Juve realise they can't shift those players permanently. Then it'll be a question of negotiating how much the loans cost which will again be a bit of brinkmanship.

I understand the frustration everyone has, but neither of those players are moving anytime relatively soon.
