Don't think we need Trippier or Byram. Don't get me wrong, Trippier in particular is great, but we have Seamus Coleman and I don't see the need on splashing out for a backup player, which those players would be comfortably given how good Coleman is.

No problem with Hibbert and Stones being able to deputise in that role if Coleman was out.

If we want to have a good crack at Europe then I think we need a half decent back up. Hibbert wouldn't even be half the player that Coleman is in this current system. Maybe either of those would be too expensive but I still think we need a back up RB. I suppose if Browning is near to the level of the first team then he could cover CB and RB so we might not have to buy any defenders at all.

My thinking is that with the number of games we might have next season it would be good to have player that can give Seamus rest periods, he runs miles every game. A player like Trippier/Byram would mean we are not compromising our style of play when Seamus is not playing. If he got an injury and was out for a while having Hibbert in the team would seriously limit how we play at the mo.

I'd agree, and ideally I'd like two great players for every position, but we're Everton and have Bill Kenwright as chairman, so whatever funds we're miraculously given to spend have to be on critical areas. For me, that's a permanent starting striker and a defensive midfielder (so Lukaku and Barry), and then another midfielder to cover Barry and McCarthy, as our midfield is key to everything we do with the full backs, which went missing when McCarthy was out against Palace.

So Lukaku, Barry and Cork, Deulofeu on loan, then if we somehow have money left over, right back is next in the list. Probably a loan signing for cover rather than a permanent.

Since we're talking about right backs I think Joel Ward would be a great shout he's big strong and can play CB if needed. I agree with Tubey get those signings and Ward and I'd consider that a great summer of transfers.

In order of priority I agree Lukaku and Barry on permanent contracts and Del (and Traore) loans. I'm up for the proposed loan of Rodwell plus one of Cork or Colback as cover for CM if we are in Europa league, but if we are in CL then I'd look at maybe Holtby rather than Cork/Colback. Byram for £3-£5 mil would be quality, if we get CL then I'd love to go for Lallana as well.

I went right off him when he started banging on about Turbans, I think that was @bluestevon, I could be wrong though.

The blue turban clique was indeed me mate, as you can see by my profile pic, we are currently in discussions to get Vladamir Putin to join it, discussions aren't going too well atm though so thinking of calling in the UN
