3million for a squad player in a position where we are relatively thin on the ground seems too good to be true.

I thought this, but apparently he only has 12 months left on his contract and he's out of favour behind Schneiderlin and Wanyama. I still would expect the fee to be somewhere around the £5m-£7m mark though.

Ideally I'd like a young up and coming right back to give Coleman that extra push (not that he needs it) and give him some competition. I was going to say Clyne actually, as he seems to have lost his place to Chambers now. Better to be a back up here than at Southampton, but he'd probably cost too much for a back up. I saw someone mention Naughton from Spurs recently, he's been a bit crap when I've seen him but maybe he could improve under a good manager. Stones looks half the player at RB.

@bluestevon is a good lad to be fair, despite what @Bungle says about him.

We've been linked with Sam Byram from Leeds a few times, decent young RB, would prob cost about £3-£5 mil, would be my choice.

I've heard of his name but know nothing about him. Leeds aren't going anywhere soon though so he could be an easy target. Kieran Trippier at Burnley is supposed to be good but he'd probably cost a fair bit now they've been promoted, plus you'd imagine he'd want to be first choice. Been linked with Arsenal also.

I haven't seen Burnley much this year but heard Trippier is decent but like you say they have just been prompted so will be expensive and he is guaranteed a start there but not with us. Byram is only 20 and has been likened to Bale in the way he gets forward, powerful runner with the ball, would be perfect for us as cover for Seamus and would add to our collection of boss 20 year olds.

Don't think we need Trippier or Byram. Don't get me wrong, Trippier in particular is great, but we have Seamus Coleman and I don't see the need on splashing out for a backup player, which those players would be comfortably given how good Coleman is.

No problem with Hibbert and Stones being able to deputise in that role if Coleman was out.
