Seen him as a player and manager of club's and country, always a favorite of mine never lost his down to earth manner and funny with it.
My brother met him after going to see the RS at Elland road after the game, stayed and talked with the lads off thier coach for an hour, said he was just the same in real life.
football and life will miss him, true legend.
am i imagining things or did he get linked to are managers job at one time?

I've just watched the Villa - Crystal Palace match recording and 'they' had the artificial crowd noise going while the minutes silence was being observed.

What a time to get it so wrong.

As a teenager and into my 20s I never missed a home game.
I was one of the 12000 that saw Aldridge finally get his first goal against Tunisia.

When we drew England on the 92Euro qualifiers I could not get a ticket for Wembley but discovered a number of tw@ts who had no interest had got tickets from business pals in FAI.

That finished me with the international scene. I support Rovers and it sickens me that the League champions get less than a third of what Delaney was on as prize money.

Disgusting crowd of self serving boors.
Was at that Tunisia game myself. Took a half day from primary school, the rural Christian brothers werent happy! On aside note future Rovers manager Pat Scully made his debut for Ireland. At the time he was in the Arsenal reserves, whereas Dave O Leary Arsenal first teamer couldnt get a game for Ireland.

RIP Big Jack ,Norman and Trevor. Yesterday was a one of the better days our club has had in the last 18 years since we went into financial meltdown. Looking forward to getting back to Goodison my mum's team,if I can get a ticket.
Leeds / Everton was always a top fixture last time we had 50000 in Elland Road 1975.
Remember starting a fixture at Mansfield with 2 players and 15 triallists in 2005, wouldn't swap it for the world. We took 10000 to MK franchise in Div 3 been to bloody Yeovil,Hereford and other grounds but we've enjoyed it. The -15 points season was best for atmosphere. We've had our ups and downs. MOT

Did he get on with Bobby ? I read about him not being well enough to go the funeral, which is understandable, but did they get on ?

RIP Jack, was watching a documentary on you tube a few weeks ago whilst he was in charge of the Ireland team, liked by all from what I understood.
