That how he win games tho, players who know their job, its not asif he played old players all the time, who the old players he plays? neville, Distin????

Osman, Hibbert, Cahill, Jagielka, Neville, Saha, McFadden, Distin.

Man City at home: Choice between young CB duffy or old RB hibbert played out of position, he went for Hibbert.

Hibbert over Coleman at RB. Neville and Heitinga in midfield over Rodwell at 18 and Junior now. Osman over Gosling or Gueye. Saha over Vaughan and later Vellios. Cahill over Barkely. McFadden over Baxter. Distin at LB rather than garbutt.

Now some of those decision were the right ones and likewise sometimes Moyes does choose youth over experience. But there is a reason why a stereotype of Moyes bein reluctant to trust youth has arisen and it's not completely baseless.

Osman is 31, Cahil:32 who not with us anymore. Jags is 30.

They are not old, they are experience good premiership players, Jags is one of the best defenders, Distin has been doing a wonderful job, old players lol, Duffy and Barkley dont get played cos they are not ready yet, simple. Rooney was a one off, Moyes had brought coleman in cos he was ready, just like Rodwell who he sold for 15 million. Erm Osman over Gosling and Gueye anyday, Gosling stuggling and Gueye is still not ready yet. Saha over Vaughan and Vellios, well Vaughan couldnt last a game for us and Vellios is still learning, Cahill over Barkley, are you taking the piss now

I'm not saying that all those decisions were the wrong ones or even that any of them were the wrong ones. I'm saying Moyes has a record of not bringing youth players into the team.

He has, whether he's right to do or not. Hence the jokes.

Anyone who thinks Craig Gordon is sh*te is so wrong it hurts. He's as good a shot stopper as there is in Britain.

Unfortunately, his skeletal structure is made up of balsa wood and white chocolate.
Never been a good scottish keeper in the history of football, sorry no offence Jock.

Took a detour passed Brum's training ground while on business down the road at cadburys B'ham, thought I'd ask him myself.

Can't believe he wasn't just hanging round the gate like - another lad come out driving a new audi R8 think it was Morgaro Gomis after googling pics of the squad - slow driver doesn't use indicators.

Someone will probably list all the young players who have recieved a debut under Moyes. But of course giving young players a debut when they get 5 mins at the end of 1 match or we have an injury crisis and they have to play is completly different to having faith in a young player and giving him a proper chance in the team at the expense of a more experienced player, something which would hopefully be invaluable to helping that young player become a useful squad/first team player for Everton.

I will just list the Everton players under 21 that have made more than 50 appearances.

Jack Rodwell, Wayne Rooney

And now the ones that Moyes didnt give a chance and they went on to better things.

*cough*

He's played the exceptional talents, which is what you need to be to play at Everton at a very young age.

Exceptions as opposed to rules.

The really really really good players get games.

The really really really gash players don't.

The rest in between don't get a proper chance in the team, they get the chance to watch James McFadden and Phil Neville play when they shouldn't.

Moyes doesn't like to play a young player in the team for a run of games when he has any kind of other option, certainly not in recent years and i don't see how thats wrong to say so, and it certainly isn't the same as "Moyes never plays young players ever, or Moyes is holding back the new Messi".

I know what your saying and I agree with you, Im just simply saying, the reason some of these lads dont get games is cos they are badly gash.

Moists record regarding youngsters is fairly damning, not 1 young player released has gone on to bigger and better things and thats over the last 11 Years.

Maybe we should respect his judgement?

Moyes said he knew from day one of his Everton tenure that Rooney would become a megastar.

He explained: "We knew what we had at the Club. I got told about him as soon as I came in the door and we were made very aware of Wayne. He was everything we had hoped. He was a man when he was very young. He had the ability and talent of any player, he brought a desire to play football.

"He didn't need coaching because he could play when he came in with good players - he adapted to what he had to do. Whatever position he was put in, he played how he thought it should be done. He was a wonderful player."

I've never said anything different.

If they got given a run of 6 games in the team (a chance), then released and end up in League 1 because they're gash then i'd have no argument.

But they don't.

And i know thats a risk, putting an inexperienced but promising youngster into the first team for a run of games is always a risk. But at a club with our financial limitations, and youth giving reputation surely it should happen.

Instead James McFadden plays games.

I guess I just don't understand the angst. There really aren't that many examples of young players not getting a chance here and then flourishing elsewhere in the PL.

Certainly this club needs to produce young, talented players, but perhaps the issue lies with the acquisition of talent, not some perceived lack of opportunity.
