Wouldn't normally write about a TV show being axed, but I watched it the other day and thought that I really love the production value. It looked so American and it surprised me that it could be done over here.

Seems though that the new change has not caught on with the old guard. The show in its old format ws dying on its feet, with silly plotlines, bad dialogue and crap acting.

Seems the brits don't like quality drama when its on.

Probably more to do with cost cutting at ITV. Everything will have to pay for itself from now on. Cheaply made programmes that encourage phone ins and cash in on product placement.

The Bill was [Poor language removed] though.

Do you mean the original swedish production or the British BBC remake with Kenneth Brannagh?

The BBC Wallander is boredom personified as intellectual art. The old Bill outlived its watchability years ago, I just liked the new Bill. It became for me watchable, but as Davek as said, expect more cheaper programmes. I couldn't believe that ITV could make Blind date look like classic TV gold, but they did with that abysmal "Take me out".

We part company on this mate. Wallander - the Swedish one, anyway - is very well done. The subtext to it all is the breakdown of the old Swedish Model of social welfarism and the rise of the market...Mankel - the creator - is an unreconstructed socialist who sees a violent crime wave as a result of the shift to a new, uncaring, social order. Hence Wallander's tortured soul at all the mayhem around him.

Stick to Sun Hill, chummy.

Bring back the Sopranos. Greatest series ever.

For comedy, 'the chuckle brothers' were simply sublime. Barry and Paul(ie).

Wow, you can do all that with that pretentious crap? Never seen the swedish version. All I know is that the Brit version is boring to the point of suicde. Perhaps that's what you meant.

As for Sun Hill, I parted from that years ago, only coming back to the more "mature" version, which is the one which went tits up.

Kelsey, you really need a life mate :P:P go to more matches.
