It has started , but as usual the media are missing the point.

We have no idea if it will be successful lid. Firing a manager when in 11th and hiring Koeman isn't real big news.

When we start to win games and put any pressure on the top four places then that's when the media pay you attention. But I'd rather we were under the radar and to get near those four places where we are at the moment will be very difficult.

Newcastle spent ridiculous money last season and got relegated for example.
That's well thought out and sensible, nice one mate!

I'm seething, just watched a program about the suffering of children in Syria and it had celebrities like Ewan McGregor talking about donating money and all this bull crap and not once did they talk about us getting Koeman as manager or our proposed stadium on the docks.

I learnt a while ago not to read any red top papers they are for the low IQ reader who normally supports a sky 6 club, driven mainly through subliminal messages and falsehoods. Sky sports and even the BBC pamper towards the masses and would not, and in some cases actively discourage anybody diverting attention. I propose the media coverage of Leicester winning the premiership versus the hype surrounding the sh*te coming second a couple of seasons ago, which got more air time? Imagine if they'd actually won it!! It would of got more coverage than if the great Muhammed Ali had been resurrected. The only thing that matters are points in the league and results in the cup.
Whilst we had a happy chappy clown manager last season we knew our place.
Let's just let the results do the talking and not some media half wit, trying to get likes from the Thumb jockey salivating no marks from towns where football isn't even played.
Ignore the press and focus on the facts.
Let's see which teams are shown during intervals and intro's to sky and BBCs football shows - it was always the top 4, now it's more random, I'd its not the top 4 but the same old teams every year, wherever they finish.
Let's not even discuss BT sport
Bitter, blue and intolerant of media bias.

Ps I hear someone's on his way back from LA, must be a match of the day pundit seat available next to Danny 'wool' Murphy.

Once upon a time there was a giant called Everton and he had fallen under the spell of a wicked witch. The witch, called Shortage of Funds, put Everton to sleep. After 25 years of being in a slumber a handsome Prince was out riding his horse and found Everton asleep in the forest, this rich Prince was called Moshiri and came from Persia.
The Prince banished Shortage of Funds from all of Goodison, the homeland of Everton and set about awakening the sleeping giant, he called upon another Prince of the Lowlands called Koeman to help him. But Koeman was still fearful of Shortage of Funds even though she had been cast out of Goodison. Prince Moshiri was a persistent Prince and he pursued Koeman, he showed Koeman great riches. Koeman then decided to ............

To be continued.
RAWKworthy this.

The return to the top table of English football has already started to happen but it seems to be slipping below the media radar.

The sacking of one manager and the appointment of his replacement costing in the order of 10m pounds is the kind of money that is only talked about when wealthy clubs are mentioned.

The new appointee being a manager which it was almost universally agreed was not going to happen as Everton were not attractive enough to tempt him from his present club and anyway his name was being mentioned with an Arsenal vacancy at some future stage....probably still will be.

The chase (hopefully successful) of an extremely high powered director of football in Monchi . This may or may not be successful but it shows a level of think unimaginable just a few years ago.

The new stadium has again become a live issue, this time there is a feeling it will be delivered and this time addresses are being mentioned that for so long were the stuff of dreams rather than reality.

I think that one or both of Lukaku and Stones will leave. I think the moves are probably more about money than ambition ...for the agents at least. I think we will spend a shed load of money but all the media will see will be the sales rather than the new arrivals.

I wonder when the odds for winning the premiership next season come out where Everton will stand.
I suppose the answer is a trophy and that probably would be a good answer, but the signs are there and they are being missed.
If those two go it will be hard not to talk about spending 200m worth on players.

At this point I don't care. It will just make it all the sweeter.

I think @blueblue has absolutely nailed this post. If you listen to Kopites they are the absolute height of ignorance while the media seem unaware of the changes that have already happened. Unfortunately it has meant certain blues are also underplaying what his intentions are.

He hasn't done what most wealthy owners do and look to make a huge point and brief the press on it. It's not bad thing for us as it means we can go under the radar for longer (which will be of benefit) and I think it shows a more professional approach. When City's owners first arrived they brought in Robinho who turned out a complete flop but they obviously wanted to make a statement. They gave the press what they wanted, which was column inches and a new exciting story.

I don't think Moshiri will operate in that way and I don't think Everton fans would want him too. What we do will be understated but by the end of the summer the more astute journalists will start to be aware of what's going on. This may well lead to bitterness and anger as much as respect and admiration by the way.

It's fascinating watching the Koeman acquisition. None of them can really understand it. They all seem a bit baffled as to why a guy has left a side who were 6th for a side who were 11th. Nobody is asking "well why is it that Koeman has gone back on his promises?" and perhaps considering that maybe what he was being offered at Everton goes far beyond anything a side like Southampton can give him. Instead the chorus of Judas and insinuation of greed will be presented with Koeman presented as a greedy selfish individual.

The money doesn't explain it, 6 million pounds (which is reported by the same press) I suspect will be a little high, certainly as a basic maybe he has so with bonuses. He could get that and more at Arsenal or Barca who were both very interested in him. That's not to say the money isn't nice but there is more to it than that. You can surmise this by the fact Emery was willing to speak to us, Mourinho's people met us, De Boer was pleading for the job and Moyes was turning down about every opportunity he had for a chance of an interview.

There is clearly more going on behind the scenes. They have tightened up on leaks and the press aren't privy to a lot of it and even if they were I doubt they'd report it as it's not "clickbait" in the same way City were when they bought Robinho, put "welcome to Manchester" signs up fro Tevez etc. Our acquisition will be done in a quiet professional manner as Moores did beforehand.

The posts from ITK people that there is more ambition/support/money available than even the most optimistic of fans are making out seems about spot on. How that's the case I'm not sure. Moshiri runs his personal affairs how he is running Everton, in a professional, dignified and ultimately quite guarded way. It could well be the estimate of 1.9 billion personal fortune (already acknowledged to be very cautious and low) as way out. It could be that others are coming on board or may be financing things behind closed doors or that someone like Usmanov may be poised to move. However it's very clear there is a lot more to it than meets the eye.

Do people not learn? We had all this hysteria with Martinez, which lasted two and a half years and only came to an end just a few months ago. Nothing has been achieved as of yet, we don't even have a manager at present, and appointing Koeman is not some massive piece of news that immediately puts us in the big time. We would actually have to get into the Champions League or win a trophy for this hysteria to be warranted, otherwise our status as also rans will be maintained.

Comparing the current situation to when we appointed a relegated manager is madness.
