Is the squad too small?

Has Koeman made the squad too small?

  • Yes, one injury and we are shafted

  • No, I believe the children are the future

  • Cheese on Jim White

I don't mind the kids playing at Left back, right back or on the wings, we have a few options in central defence and as defensive central midfielders, but no back up for Barkley or Lukaku is poor

No more ins and one more out. Will leave us with a pathetically small squad with no cover up front or on the left. Has Koeman sold us short? This could cost us a place in Europe
No adequate cover for Rom and yet again no playmaker.

We may get away with it if Rom stays fit.

Niasse,Del, Oviedo, Gibson - not too many minutes this season.
Cleverley is just gash.
The under 23's that have gone out on loan need it.
So unless there was an unbelievable run of injuries (the exception being Lukaku), don't think losing any of the above will have that great an impact as they have contributed nothing to the recent good run.
Pity we couldn't/wouldn't get Galloway back though.

Isn't that the point? No one near Lukaku's standard is going to sit on our bench. Anything too far from Lukaku's standard ain't worth signing.

If you need proof of that, take a look at the reaction to the Valencia deal.
So will we ever sign another forward then? If not, how will we ever progress?

Mate the PL is elite league football. If it were easy to improve squads at this time of year why aren't all clubs doing it?

For example that Jansen (or whatever his name is) for Spurs has been a flop, of Kane gets injured Spurs much like us with Lukaku are screwed.

Why haven't they signed?

Maybe all clubs are happy with squads, Koeman made it abundantly clear he wasn't happy with ours and wanted players. We are over reliant on Lukaku and some competition would do him good.

I don't really get your point, the markets open, clubs can and do use it.

Top clubs don't us this market. Look across Europe, I'd suggest we're one of the top spenders.

I still don't get your point. If a club want to go and buy a player they can, whilst the window is open. It's been going on for years and every team has participated in buying and selling are you saying to the contrary.

If there is a player up to standard available. Clearly there isn't. Otherwise why aren't we signing them?

Depth or no depth, the players who have left this window would have only featured if 2 players in their position where injured, unlikely imo

All we've done is bin off a load of useless players we would never have played anyway, the squad is no weaker than it was when we started the window.

No, all we have is the league, so think getting rid of the dead wood to desperate clubs is a great move and free up some space for the summer when decent deals can be done. Ronnie says relax.
