Is the attack worse than last season?

4 goals in 7 games. 1 of them was a penalty. Average of a goal a game so far which is worse than last season.

For me there are not enough goals in the starting eleven that keeps getting picked. Alcaraz and McNeil can score goals should they not be getting picked?

Or is it as simple as that better full backs would enable spaces to open up to create more chances and as a result goals would come naturally?

It's a predictable and easily nullified attack.

Moyes will go more route one again VERY shortly.

That's because he and the 'impressive operators' made a complete bollocks of the transfer window by getting unsuitable attackers in to be a part of an attack with Grealish and Ndiaye in it.

Yes, we are slower getting the ball forward, we don't press as high, don't have as many shots on goal from ball recovery, don't get as many men in the box, don't play to Beto's strengths. The easiest way to address this for me is to revert to Garner, Gueye & Alcaraz. Move JOB to centre half, drop Keane, play Coleman/Patterson at RB. Tell Grealish he's playing for Dean Smith and play like we did last season.

Moyes used to build our entire game around getting the crosses in often and sometimes early back in his first tenure. It seems our setup is far more ponderous this time around. One could argue the game has changed and modernized, but we seem to be more sluggish and less interested in flooding the centre when the opportunity arises.

Our attack is much better than last season, we have ball carriers now. We just need to be more direct and shoot more.

TBF we was unlucky against Spurs, 2 great saves and a disallowed goal.

I do think however that Gana massively slows down our attacks, he is great breaking up play but useless in attack.

We also had one blocked on the line and another from Gana that was heading in as well

As a few said, we have better footballers that can dribble and get the ball into the box, we just don't create enough through the middle but then the strikers can't control the ball.

Everything is far too slow (just incredible that we didn’t prioritise pace).

McNeil and Harrison were absolutely dreadful of course, but they did put early balls into the box, and Doucs was awful but he did put himself about.

These are things we are missing. Alcaraz or Rohl (ideally both) need to come in ASAP and we need an overlapping full back. Coleman or Garner.

There is also the notion that now Moyes has been here a while they have worked out his tactics, and how easy it is to play against the strikers we have who need about 40 mins to trap the ball.. instead of giving them space etc... We need to bin off Beto, if we can find a buyer, and invest in someone who know's how to play as a striker, as opposed to learning as you go along..
