Yes we are short in midfield, but we still have the money in the bank and can spend 6 months either scouting for a proper replacement for Fer or trying to resurrect the deal in the summer when Twente might be more willing to negotiate now the cat is out the bag with regards to the players knee.

Have to say, personally think Everton are making all the right moves, acting with common and business sense and not panicking. We need to make sure every player we sign is value for money and will deliver.

I get the feeling some supporters just want someone to buy the club and players to come in regardless of anything.

Fer failed his medical? Dont worry, we'll spend it in the next window.

It's embarrasing really. We had a wonderful opportunity this season to get a top 4 slot, with Arsenal in relative diasarray for them, and the RS still finding their feet after the mess Daglish left. Both of those, as well as Spurs and Newcastle will strengthen again in the summer and we will be playing catch up again. If it was the first time this had happened then i'd be forgiving, but it isnt it it. It's the 4th or 5th time we've missed the Champions League boat. (yes i know we are still fighting for fourth, but the odds are stacked against us - any bookmaker will tell you that.)
 

I'm glad we don't win trophies we'd deffo get relegated.

You must have missed the signings of Jelavic, Mirallas, Gibson, Oviedo and Piennar.

I don't get that logic tbh, as if you're 17th in the League then you're fairly ****e & the lifting of a cup is likely to be down to a piss easy draw & bag fulls of luck.

When I'm at wembley watching us lift a cup surrounded by cheering evertonians, I won't think 'well, we did get a piss eays draw and loads of luck, I wish we were seventh instead'.

You've missed the point. If you finish 17th then you're a poor side who just escaped relegation & the cup run is obviously not a reflection of the quality of the team. You'd therefore be likely to struggle again the following season. Rinse & repeat.

I wouldn't want to go back to days like Wimbledon '94, in exchange for seeing us lift the Mickey Mouse
 
everybody remembers the bride - the bridesmaids fade into oblivion fairly quickly -
the question is really not whether Moyes has done well or not to get us where we are - i think we all agree there -
the question is really whether we want to and whether we can\will win silverwhare if we change nothing - more or less same squad and same manager ?
are we winners or just also rans ? happy to end fourth or disappointed we were not first ?
is there a next step for Everton or have we arrived ? is between 5th and 9th a comfort zone or a stepping stone ?
who and what will take us to the next level ?
more of the same as the last 10 years or something fresh different ?
some of us just beleive we have stagnated into a very good looking bridesmaid but deep inside we want to be a bride ONEDAY
 
I actually think Moyes's purchase of Stones indicates that Moyes is planning to stay. A manager who's thinking about moving to another job won't be spending his precious financial resources on a player of the future. He would have used that money to pick up some proven player to help us this year so he could pad his resume for the next job.

Talk about him going to Chelsea is ridiculous. Even if Moyes got crazy and decided to leave his secure job at Everton to go to the most volatile job in professional sports, I seriously doubt Abromovich would pick a guy like Moyes. The Russian always picks big name, international level managers.
