Is that kiss goodbye to Moyes then? Who would you want if so?

Really, so their spending didn't result in them having squads that weren't good enough for the PL & got them relegated?

The fact that they lifted the Mickey Mouse means nothing, they patently spent badly.

Sure, but surely that is an argument against Moyes rather than for him?

Those were poor teams with poor managers and they won trophies. It's possible. So why haven't we done it with a better manager and better teams?

Because Moyes' teams have always done very well in the league and poorly in cups. And that means no trophies in this league at this time. Which bothers me quite a lot. It's been too long for this club.

I wouldn't agree re: the FA Cup, where I think we've done well under Moyes in the main, abeit without winning the thing.

The League cup, yes, we should have done better. It's the easiest competition to win, as most of the top clubs aren't arsed with it, & we've had opportunities over the years & blown it.

The league is always the measure of how good a team & manager really are.

Anyone can fluke a pot, see the RS 2005 for details.

And yet we can't.

It will be two decades without a trophy soon, and referring to it as a 'pot' doesn't diminish the worth of a cup victory to the fanbase.

But as someone mentioned, there are only a handful of clubs who have won the odd trophy since the Premiership began outside of the big spending clubs. We think we have it hard here, what about the likes of Newcastle, Sunderland and Villa. Then there are Leeds, Sheffield Wednesday and Nottingham Forest.

Not aiming this directly at you but were 5th in the league and people are moaning about the manager. I wonder if you asked any of those other clubs I have mentioned if they would trade their place with ours they would laugh at us for even asking the question.

This mentality that we have some sort of divine right to be winning things is similar to what the Kopites have. Why should we? Especially when you consider the poor management until Moyes came in and the fact we have very little money to spend on players compared to the top sides. We've not been a top side for ages, but Moyes has established us as one of the best of the rest which is a great achievement when you consider the budget we have.

wtf are you on about now? A pot is a pot?

If someone told you it was raining, you'd probably argue that it was only light precipitation & that rain was an exaggeration.

I'd also like to mention that everyone discounting the carling cup or capital one cup or whatever it's called need to stop being such elitists. is it as prestigious as the FAcup? no. but it does the same Damn thing: gets you into Europe. isn't that what everyone is banging on every year? 'we need to get into Europe!'?

Our right to win cups is because we're the 5th best team in the league and we are much better off than the likes of bradford, birmingham, leicester, portsmouth, blackburn and boro.

Why can we overachieve in the leagues and not the cups?
