Is spending money always the answer?

Its pretty funny when you think about it, every year theres a panic and every year we sign better players then the year before, nothings changed since the end of the season bar a good bout of boardem and paranoia. Moyes always gets the right players in, we are always stronger. Im actually more confident, optimistic and excited this close season than any other.

Good post the only way to improve is try to win if we start settling for a fifth or lower position we are showing a lack of ambition,Thats not to say we should expect fourth or higher but it is what we should aim for(y)

Well I never said that we shouldn't be aiming higher, but there is nothing wrong in laying some good foundations, and also being realistic. It's going to take a gigantic push to move into the top 4 again, and I mean on a regular basis, where Sky take notice.

Moyes had a 5 year plan, he's knocking on the door by the end of that plan. What's his next 5 years? Does it involve the obvious talent we have coming through? Imagine what a new stadium, new young players, established players that we already have and a manager and assistant who are well respected.

I just don't think we are ready to move into the top 4 just yet. That's not being negative, that's just realising that the how nice the cake looks, its just not quite ready to take out of the oven. You know what I mean?

Good post.....

You just dont go from relegation fodder, to winning leagues ffs. You might say "why play if your not trying to win it" well you must be 7years old an not know a thing about football. Were heading in the right direction an have been for a while.

When moyes took over from smith. If someone would have told you were we'd be in 5 years, would you have took it???? Fukkin right you would have. So stop with the [Poor language removed], if we finish in the top 4 id be amazed. 5th is were we are aiming for. If we get the chance of a top 4 by the end. Lets go for it!!

But stop being unrealistic, were doing fine as we are. Hopfully in 5 years from now, we can really challange.

Love the cake analogy ghost, class stuff agree whole-heaartedly we should be content with top ten, hopefull of top six, and estatic if we get top four (i actually fancy or chances, if Moyes adds what he has done in recent seasons to the existing squad, not getting carried away though).

In some ways you could view a lack of signings so far as negative, but then again maybe its about waiting it out to get the ones you want, or will make a difference.

Spot on. No point of buying player you dont want just for the numbers. We need players that will fit in an Improve the squad.
