All I have heard today is how bad pienaar's tackle was but am I alone in thinking that Pienaar was targeted for rough treatment? from the kick-off he was rattled with a high leading elbow from carrigher, he took a two footed assault from behind by mascherano and got a friendly boot in the face from Captain marvellous (who seems to be immune from prosecution and is gaining an unenvious diving reputation) to name a few. The fact that Liverpool has adopted this tactic on our skilful players speaks volumes of how far we have come as a football team. IMO the game was swung on two moments - cahils sitter and Howard allowing Kyut to break his concentration. We were undoubtedly the better team - its just that raffa is the luckiest manager in the history of the game

I put a similar theory to a kopite at work today and he spat his dummy out big time - just goes to prove the truth hurts.......

There is no way of out of it getting sent of in the 90th minute is stupidity esspecialy with big games coming up.

I thought they targeted the big man to be honest untill he went of injured.

Baines is right in the comment he made, both Pienaar and Fellaini were targetted. Up until 12:45 saturday, they were our 2 most in-form players.

As its been said though, any of our players would kick Torres in the first minute if we could, its just part of the game, but Gerrard took full advantage of the second tackle to Pienaar. What is it with Gerrard getting out players sent off?

Pienaar was more sinned agin than sinner.

That bollocks Adrian Durham was gloating on talkSPORT this afternoon about how "Stevile G" waited until the last minute to set him up for a sending off.

The oaf said Gerrad was "perfectly justified" in so doing.

This the [Poor language removed] who dives like a swallow every week and should have been done for GBH after his foul on Naismith a few years ago.

I had to turn talksport off - i was fuming - i know he does it to get callers - but even so - way over the top - he was saying Fella & peanuts should have gone but the greek kebab seller was unfotunate and did little wrong, and then all that stuff about Gerrard being jusitified in cheating to get nuts sent off as he should have been off earlier.
Although this was exaggerrated, there is a media bias towards RS capt. The leap for the header, and then the falling like a sack of the proverbial with no contact reminded me of that dive for the penalty he 'won' in the champions league game (Lyon?) in the corner of the area, going for a header with no contact. His other favourite dive is the one where he splays his legs out after leaving his leg in to ensure some light contact. The way he dives looks so unnatural i cant believe hes only had 2 yellows (that ive seen) for diving.

Onto topic - Peinaar and Felli were both targeted....they are our most in-form (felli) and skilful and creative (nuts) players. Before the injury it was Arteta - the most fouled in the league for 2 seasons - its not nice - but it shows you how far the squad has come - we now have steel and skill (under previous managers it was just steel) - shame there wasnt much on Saturday

When you see him lifting up the cup his shorts are so high men, it is unbelievable. I said to Francois look, can you see your shorts men, they are so high, you look silly men.

wtf? Is this proper english that makes sense or am i just tired?

I have no idea why someone doesn't do one on Gerrard. The man who gets him stretchered off the field would be an instant legend and a cult hero.
