is our first team a little short?

Can @Prevenger17 post the large version of his avatar to completely destroy this thread, please?

Anyway, where's the genetic height engineering money, Bill?

During the Howard Kendal mk2 spell I remember us being known for having a small team. with players like Cottee, Beardsley Mo Johnston and Mark Ward amongst our forward players. There may have even been some kind of dreadful tabloid nickname also?.

A small team is bittersweet. It keeps the players happy with playing time but fighting in Europe would cost us in the end of the prem season. I am sure Martinez has mapped out everything to keep the squad fresh and happy. Whereas Moyes was fixated in keeping certain players on the field through thick and thin which impeded the youth movement. Martinez is this view is a breath of fresh air.

This was a problem moyes rectified when we signed fellaini . He said we needed a big midfielder as sometimes we got bullied in the air when we had ossy pienaar cahill and others all small ! but dont really see barry and mcarthy getting bullied and thiink Besic is small but by all accounts a hard case !

Height is over-rated in football now.

1. The ball isn't played in the air that much anymore.
2. The conditioning of the players allows shorter lighter men to out leap taller heavier men.

We have enough height with Rom, Barry and Distin although we'll probably never be great at corners.

So you reckon if Snow White and the seven dwarfs work out hard in the gym they could beat the Harlem Globe Trotters??
